BIRTH DOULA
The word 'doula' comes from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves."
It is now the name of a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after the birth of her baby.
As a Birth Doula I will:
- recognise that every labour and birth is unique
- assist with the preparation and carrying out of the birth plan
- provide physical and emotional support to the mother throughout the labour and birth
- provide support to the partner and birth assistants during labour and birth
As a Homeopathic Birth Doula I can also prescribe Homeopathic remedies as required or desired to support the birthing process.
I work in partnership with another Homeopathic Birth Doula to ensure back up services.
